The dub name has always bothered me, since it effectively translates to 'Guardian: Guardian of the Sacred Spirit.' If they wanted to weeaboo it up with a Japanese name, they should have just kept the Japanese name 'Seirei no Moribito.' Otherwise, just 'Guardian of the Sacred Spirit' would have been a perfectly serviceable title.I liked the show though. As mentioned previously, it had gorgeous visuals and awesome fights. Watching Balsa and Chagum grow and develop both as individuals and as a kind of pseudo-mother/son pair was gratifying and way better than any of the actual overarching plot.
The pacing was a little slow. Well, if English isn't your first language, watching an English dub wouldn't make very much sense. I've briefly tried watching Spanish dubs of shows when I couldn't find English, and I had to give up because I couldn't keep up at all.

Foreign subs are hard to follow, but I find dubs significantly more challenging. Often English dubs are available, but to me they sound terribly irritating which is why I usually stick to subs. Unless you're trying to pick up a language, subs definitely make more sense than a foreign dub.
